Gobiernos de facto y doctrina del reconocimiento internacional. La contribución latinoamericana.

Résumé

By resorting to popular sovereignty to legalise the existence of governments installed in power by revolutionary means, the Latin American independencies created a new form of integration into international society. The independences not only challenged the laws of royal succession that had constituted the basic criterion for the integration or rejection of a new government in the Law of nations, but by appealing to the de facto exercise of the authority of a popular government, they created a new normative and diplomatic practice of recognition that was imposed on the rest of the international system during the nineteenth century.
